Cent – real trading, tiny stakes

Your balance is displayed in cents, so $10 becomes 1,000 cents. Order sizes range from 0.01 to 1,000 cent lots with STP execution. It's the ideal stepping stone between a demo and a standard account.

Micro – fixed spreads for peace of mind

Spreads are fixed from 3 pips. That's wider than variable accounts, but they won't jump during news releases. You get 31 currency pairs and 2 precious metals.

Standard – the all-rounder

Variable spreads from 1 pip, no commission, leverage up to 1:3000 and up to 200 open positions and pending orders. Order sizes range from 0.01 to 500 lots. For most traders, this is the account to start with.

Zero Spread – no spread, flat commission

Spreads are fixed at 0 pips, and you pay a commission from $20 per lot instead. That's expensive for frequent trading, but useful if you trade around volatile news events where spreads normally widen sharply. Available on MT4 only.

ECN – raw market access

A $1,000 minimum, floating spreads and a $6 per lot commission, with 28 currency pairs on MT4. Designed for scalpers and algorithmic traders who want direct market pricing.

Professional – for experienced traders

Spreads from 0.3 pips with no commission, execution in around 0.2 seconds and no limit on open positions. You'll need to pass a suitability survey to qualify.

Demo & Islamic accounts

  • Demo: $1,000 in virtual funds, available in Standard, Cent and Crypto versions.
  • Islamic (swap-free): available on Standard and Cent accounts, with access to 60+ instruments and spreads from 1 pip.

  • Trade the news? β†’ Zero Spread or Micro
  • Scalping with a bigger balance? β†’ ECN or Professional

Note: FBS updates its account line-up from time to time, and availability varies by region and entity. Confirm which accounts are offered in your country before registering.

What does a 1-lot trade really cost?

Compare the main options on a standard 1-lot EUR/USD trade (approximate, using minimum spreads):

AccountSpread costCommissionApprox. total
Professional~$3 (0.3 pips)$0β‰ˆ $3
ECN~$10 (1 pip floating)$6β‰ˆ $16
Standard~$10 (1 pip)$0β‰ˆ $10
Micro~$30 (3 pips fixed)$0β‰ˆ $30
Zero Spread$0from $20β‰ˆ $20+

Key takeaway: for most traders, the Standard account offers the best mix of cost and simplicity, while the Professional account is by far the cheapest if you qualify.

Trading Information

Watch the stock commission. That 0.7% of order value on stock CFDs adds up quickly. On a $10,000 position, you'd pay about $70 in commission alone β€” well above what many competitors charge.

Leverage: Up to 1:3000 β€” Handle With Extreme Care

FBS offers some of the highest leverage in the industry β€” but how much you actually get depends on your entity and the instrument.

What 1:3000 really means: with just $1 of margin, you can control a $3,000 position. A move of about 0.03% against you can wipe out that margin.

Our leverage rules:

  • Beginners should stay atΒ 1:100 or lower.
  • Always set aΒ stop-loss before you enter a trade.
  • Don't risk more thanΒ 1–2% of your balance on a single trade.
  • Higher leverage magnifiesΒ losses just as much as profits.

Contact & Support

FBS Review examines whether a $1 broker can compete with major names, covering its offer, costs, trading options, and who may find it useful.

FBS Review Can a $1 Broker Really Compete With the Big Names?

FBS Review – $1 minimum deposit, 1:3000 leverage, 4 regulators, 4M+ tradersΒ The 30-second verdict: FBS is one of the most widely used retail forex brokers in Asia, Africa and Latin America, with millions of clients, a $1 entry point and leverage that goes as high as 1:3000. Unlike many low-deposit brokers,

it is licensed by four regulators, including two Tier-1 authorities β€” ASIC and CySEC. The catch: the best protections apply only if you trade through the right entity, and the stock CFD commission is on the steep side.

What Makes FBS Stand Out?

FBS launched in 2009 and has grown into one of the biggest names in retail forex β€” especially in South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. It runs twelve offices in seven countries (including Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, South Korea and Myanmar) and its website is available in 17 languages, including Bengali.

Three things set FBS apart from the crowd:

  1. A true "start with anything" broker. Most account types open with just $1, so anyone can try live trading without serious financial risk.
  2. More regulation than you'd expect. Many low-deposit brokers rely on a single offshore licence. FBS holds four, including ASIC (Australia) and CySEC (Cyprus).
  3. Choice. From cent accounts and fixed-spread micro accounts to zero-spread and ECN accounts, FBS offers more account styles than almost any competitor.

Why your entity matters

This is the part most reviews gloss over. Your level of protection depends on which FBS entity you sign up with, and that depends on where you live:

  • EU clients (CySEC): strict ESMA rules apply β€” leverage is capped at 1:30 on major forex, negative balance protection is mandatory and you're covered by Cyprus's Investor Compensation Fund.
  • Australian clients (ASIC): similar retail protections, including leverage limits of 1:30.
  • International clients (IFSC Belize): you get the famous 1:3000 leverage and the widest choice of accounts β€” but under a lighter, Tier-3 regulatory framework.

FxBonusOffer tip: If you're in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan or most of Asia and Africa, you'll most likely be onboarded under the Belize entity. Always check which company name appears on your client agreement.

safety verdict

FBS is a legitimate, long-established broker with a multi-jurisdiction licence structure that's stronger than most of its high-leverage competitors. International traders should simply understand that the Tier-1 protections don't automatically extend to them.

Final Verdict: Is FBS a Good Broker?

FBS has earned its reputation as one of the most beginner-friendly brokers in the world. A $1 minimum deposit, seven account types, fast withdrawals, an award-winning mobile app and support in 17 languages make it especially attractive to traders in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Its regulatory structure is also stronger than most high-leverage brokers, with ASIC and CySEC licences alongside FSCA and IFSC. Just remember that, as an international client, you'll most likely trade under the Belize-regulated entity, where protections are lighter.

Bottom line: if you're a new or intermediate forex trader looking for a low-cost, flexible broker with excellent local support, FBS deserves a top spot on your shortlist. If you mainly want to trade stocks, look elsewhere.
